Congratulations to our U12 Blackbirds who won the Plate Final at the Newcastle International Summer Cup tournament at Cochrane Park today.

The group stage saw them in Group B with:
- Hutchison Vale (Scotland)
- Glentoran FC (Northern Ireland)
- TASS Thistle Blue (Scotland)

Group Stage results:
- Hutchison Vale 6-0 PUFC Blackbirds
- TASS Thistle 1-3 PUFC Blackbirds
- PUFC Blackbirds 1-1 Glentoran

They ended-up finishing 3rd in their group behind Hutchison Vale and Glentoran.

In the Plate Semi-Final the Blackbirds beat TASS Thistle Yellow 2-1 thanks to a brace from the in form Ochoa Simpson-Williams.

In the Plate Final against Hermes (from Aberdeen) they took the lead in the first half thanks to a penalty from Rory Moore. The lead was doubled in the second half by the fantastic Ben Wheatley, who ran down the right wing and shot into the left-hand corner of the goal.
Hermes pulled one goal back in the last 5 minutes to make it 2-1, but the Blackbirds were the better side and held on quite comfortably to the win the final.
