Alexander has developed into a great defender. He stands out for his tremendous fitness levels and his discipline on the pitch. He's a perfect example of a team player and he never over-complicates the job when he has to cut off an opposing attacking move or quickly play the ball forward to start the counter-attack.

He can easily adapt to the left back, right back or centre back position when circumstances dictate. Increasingly, Alexander also likes to get up in attack – creating the overlap with midfield or running with the ball through the centre of the field. More than anything else, Alexander is a reference point for the rest of the squad due to his character and qualities on the ball.
